Stars' Benn off injury list, headed to NHL All-Star Game

FRISCO — The Dallas Stars have activated foward Jamie Benn from injured reserve retroactive to January 14.  The 22-year old Benn has missed the last five games recovering from appendectomy surgery.

Dallasstars.com reports the 6-2, 205 pound player leads the team with 29 assists and ranks second overall in scoring with 42 points.  Earlier this mont,h Benn was selected for the 2012 NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa.  Benn has been back on the ice for the last couple of days, and he plans on getting involved in the All-Star Game full throttle.

In the meantime, Tomas Vincour, Philip Larsen and Matt Fraser have been assigned to the AHL Texas Stars.

The Stars' next practice is Monday, January 30 at 2 p.m. at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco.  The team's next game is February 1 against the Ducks at Anaheim.
