DALLAS — The Dallas Stars soon could have a new owner.
Forbes.com reports that Hicks Sports Group is close to selling the NHL franchise and 50 percent interest in the American Airlines Center to an unspecified buyer for $275-$300 million.
Tom Hicks told The Dallas Morning News earlier this month that he hoped to complete a sale before the season opener on October 8.
Speculation is focused on Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who lost out on his bid for the Texas Rangers. The Mavericks also play at American Airlines Center.
