DALLAS - As game day for Super Bowl XLV approaches, pre-game events are under way.
Just one week ago, the Dallas Convention Center, where the NFL Experience is taking place, looked like a giant empty space. A few days later, it had some color with artificial turf installed. Wednesday, it began taking shape. Thursday, it opened the doors for fans.
The NFL Experience is football overload, with everything NFL spread out over 850,000 square feet. It's interactive; it's high-tech.
For many, it also served as a father-son bonding experience, one that was kicked off with the arrival of the Lombardi Trophy.
The trophy was unveiled at Tiffany & Company at NorthPark Center and was then moved to the NFL Experience via an armored vehicle.
For Adam Borja, the NFL Experience put his dream of going to an NFL game within reach.
"It's cool because this is my first time seeing it," said Salvador Calcanas, Adam's father.
Adam warmed up with his dad before showing off his arm game after game.
"We practice every day at home, and during the week we throw the ball," Calcanas said.
Running back drills are just one of 75 exhibits to choose from at the event.
"The Super Bowl is a once in a lifetime opportunity," Calcanas said. "We'll remember it always."
Tickets to the NFL Experience can only be purchased online. The event will run through February 6.
