It doesn't look like the Super Bowl will be returning to North Texas any time soon.
The Dallas Morning News reports Cowboys Stadium is out of the running for Super Bowls in 2016 and 2017.
San Francisco and South Florida are up for the 50th NFL championship game, Super Bowl L, in 2016. The city that is not selected will compete with Houston to host the game in 2017.
The final decision on a location for Super Bowl L will be made at a meeting of NFL owners next spring, according to the SBnation.com website.
"We support the committee's judgment in considering a brand new facility in the Bay Area as well as the South Florida market — which has hosted the most Super Bowls — as logical sites for the 50th game," said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
