The Cowboys are nowhere near the NFL's best, but they are what the league likes... they keep it interesting -- and keep you watching -- until the very end.
Keeping it compelling against the lowly browns should alarm cowboy fans, though.
The offense in particular looked nowhere near ready to play... just 68 yards in the first halfm their lowest mark in five years..
And the defense gives a young quarterback confidence while the browns opened up a 13-point lead.
The Browns' defense was so bad, they gave the cowboys 10 first downs on penalties...a record for dallas opponents.
Credit the cowboys for taking advantage of the mistakes and eventually getting back in the game. But even the most die-hard Cowboys fan can't hep but be troubled by the way their team allowed the now 2-and-8 browns to stay in the game for 60-minutes-plus.
Several Cowboys players tried to tell anyone who'd listen the last week they'd turned a corner by beating the eagles. The truth is, with this team you never know what's around that next corner. And its #1 receiver, who had career highs with 12 catches and 145 yards, knows it.
"We can't pay attention to success, we gotta keep our head down and keep fighting. Keep doing that -- no telling what will happen," said Dez Bryant.
Despite all the hiccups, the Cowboys take care of the most important part, notching this one in the win column. But perhaps tight end Jason Witten's approach going forward is best... says he won't dwell on this game, but the entire team needs to realize they won't beat the Redskins playing this poorly.
