Every year, members of the Dallas Cowboys take a trip to the Salvation Army on Harry Hines Blvd in Dallas to help feed folks in need.

Gene Jones, the President of Gene and Jerry Jones Charities, says "We feel so privileged to be a part of someone we know is doing it the right way and the best way and they are touching the lives of so many."

Tuesday, November 17th, is the last day the Cowboys will have off before Thanksgiving Day, so it was a good day to spend time handing out Thanksgiving meals complete with all the trimmings. And on top of that, they got to hang out with Actor Comedian Billy Crystal.

Crystal was given team jersey with the number-9, which he put on with a little hesitation. "This isn't going to play well in New Jersey," Crystal said as the room burst into laughter. In New Jersey, the Cowboys are the enemy. "Yeah, I’d be dead," Crystal says. "I'd be next to (Jimmy) Hoffa right now."

His show, "700 Sunday's,"  is showing at the Winspear Opera House this week and was a guest of the Cowboys. He helped deliver meals and signed autographs while the Cowboys were hearing advice about how to make the team better.

"They've got a lot of work to do," one man said. Another yelled at Running Back Tashard Choice saying "They should be starting you!"

Gary Marcantel said, "I love Marion Barber, and I love Felix Jones but Mister 23 right there has the power and the speed of both of them. Start him!"

Choice took it all in stride. "Oh yeah, they're talking to us," Choice said. "It's cool, because they know all about us."

As for Billy Crystal, he left as an honorary member of the Cowboys, and his favorite Cowboys player happens to be a former quarterback. "Eddie LeBaron," he said. Eddie Lebaron. That's my guy. Anyone under 5-foot-10, that's my guy.  This isn't about who you root for. This is about doing something good."

And for the folks being served a free meal, what a treat to have Crystal and members of the Cowboys spend time with them to help make their Thanksgiving better.
