ARLINGTON - The Dallas Cowboys are offering the first ever 3D live experience when they play the Chargers Sunday.
Each fan will get a set of 3D glasses when they walk into the Cowboys Stadium, which will be used to watch the Cowboys' large video boards.
"It's basically indescribable, especially as a big fan," said James Spinella, HDlogix president.
Spinella and his HDlogix team are the team working behind the experience. The glasses allow fans to feel as though they're actually in the game by converting 2D HDTV Video into 3D.
"It's not the aggressive 3D that you would see in the movie, like someone is trying to poke your eye out," Spinella said. "It's a more real-world experience."
"We want to enhance that experience, so for replays or for certain kicks offs, things like that," said Brian Conway, senior vice president of HDlogix. "So, we're not trying to take away or distract from the game, just enhance the fan experience and give them something they couldn't get anywhere else."
The technology will soon be applied to most media devices, including cell phones, computers and televisions.
If Sunday goes well, it may be a more than one time event. One of the hopes behind the glasses is to make the experience better for Party Pass fans, and at the same price.
