IRVING, Texas (AP) — Jerry Jones is well aware of the 24-hour rule. He knows it makes sense. He believes in it. But sometimes, there have to be exceptions.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett tells his team to celebrate successes for 24 hours, then move on. But for Jones, one of those exceptions came when his team opened the season with a 24-17 road victory over the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants on Wednesday.

Five days after the victory Jones was clearly still relishing the successful start.

But Jones also said that there is plenty to do to get ready for Seattle on Sunday.

High on that list is getting as many repetitions as possible for backup centers Ryan Cook and David Arkin. Starting center Phil Costa is out with a lower back strain.
