FORT WORTH — A TCU football player says he was attacked at his off-campus home.

Police said defensive end Devonte Fields went outside to start his car Tuesday morning and as he went back inside, three suspects came up behind him.

They hit Fields on the head with a semi-automatic pistol, beat him, then went inside and robbed him.

At one point shots were fired, but no one was hit.

Fields initially let police search the house, but later decided he didn't want to press charges.
