With 3:00 left in the third quarter, I realized something. Right now, the Dallas Mavericks are an incredibly tough team to beat.

After they lost Game 2 to Oklahoma City 106-100, that may not be what Maverick fans are thinking. But it's true. And by being such a tough team to beat every time they play, the Mavs are going to be especially hard to beat four times in a series.

In a lot of playoff series, teams can get easy wins. The Mavs almost got one in Game 1 (OKC made it tight near the end). The Chicago Bulls did get one in Game 1 of their series against Miami. But the way Dallas is playing, it's hard to see any team getting an easy win against them. In fact, in the Mavs' three losses in the playoffs so far, they've all been very close, and very difficult for the winning team.

Can a young team like Oklahoma City claw out four wins against this Mavericks team? I don't think so, even if they did "steal" home court advantage (overrated phrase). I don't know whether Dallas is good enough to win the NBA title, but I do think they're plenty good enough to beat the Thunder.
