ESPNDallas.com is reporting that Rusty Greer has interviewed for the Texas Rangers hitting coach position. The former Rangers fan favorite is currently serving as the Assistant Head Coach at Texas Wesleyan University under former teammate Mike Jeffcoat.
What does everyone else think about Greer being a possible replacement for Rudy Jaramillo? Greer was a .300 hitter in nine seasons with the Rangers, but does that mean immediate success as a hitting coach in the bigs?
The Rangers offensive struggles late in the season were very disappointing for fans. Is bringing in a coach with little experience do anything to help the cause? Next year could be Texas' year. They need to find their swing. Will Rusty Greer help achieve that?
