ARLINGTON — Fans of the American League champion Texas Rangers snapped up more than 100,000 single-game tickets for the team's 40th anniversary season within hours after they went on sale Saturday morning.

Opening day is Friday, April 6 against the Chicago White Sox at the Ballpark in Arlington, and the Rangers said fewer than 100 obstructed view and standing room tickets remained for that contest as of late Saturday afternoon.

Individual ticket prices range from $473 for home plate seats at "premier" games to $7 for grandstand seats at non-premier contests.
