Michael Young will make his first major league start at first base tonight against Mariners Top Prospect pitcher, Michael Pineda.  Manager Ron Washington said he is confident in Young's ability at first base because of his experience at multiple infield positions throughout his career.   The only other major change in the lineup is Mitch Moreland starting in right field and Nelson Cruz is at designated hitter tonight.

Nelson Cruz will be attempting to make major league history as the first player to homer in the first five games of the season.

Michael Pineda was the Mariners 2010 Minor League Pitcher of the Year and will be making his first major league start at age 22.  Therefore, look for the Ranger hitters to be patient at the plate to start the game and force the rookie to throw strikes.
