Poll:
Is Michael Young the greatest Ranger ever?
Yesterday, the Rangers announced that third baseman Michael Young has been named the club's player of the year by the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. It is the fourth time that he has won the award.
Young was the Rangers leader in batting average at .322 on the season. Even though he missed a significant time at the end of the season, he still led the team in hits, total bases, and multiple hit games.
Coming into the season, Young was asked to move to 3rd base, his second career position switch, to make room for rookie Elvis Andrus. Year in and year out, Michael Young produces on the field for the Rangers. I think it’s time to ask if he is the greatest Texas Ranger ever.
