27. New England Patriots - DE Andre Branch (Clemson)
Branch is another who fits into the category of DE/OLB hybrid. There are differing opinions on how appropriate that label is, but for this player I think it's clear that in the NFL he will only survive as an OLB. As of right now, he'll need to add some mass in order to be able to play as a legitimate 4-3 defensive end.
He'll fit the New England system perfectly, though. He's quick, agile, and a strong coverage linebacker. If Nick Perry slides this far, then I suspect New England will take Perry over Branch. But in our mock draft Nick Perry is off the board. And now, so is Branch. -- KEVIN TURNER
