16. New York Jets -- RB Trent Richardson (Alabama)
Outside the first three selections, there may not be a single player in this mock draft who would do more for his new team than Richardson. The Jets are gifted with a very good offensive line and good coaching, but lack great runners or receivers and have a… unique situation at quarterback, to put things mildly.
Richardson is as worthy of a top five pick as any running back since at least Darren McFadden – and one could even go as far back as Adrian Peterson. But the players’ short careers and the modern-day emphasis on the passing game have pushed running backs down in the draft hierarchy. He is a dream come true for Rex Ryan and company, though. The Jets take the tremendously talented runner and scream gleeful profanities for several hours. -- OR MOYAL
