ARLINGTON -- The Texas Rangers announced their plans Thursday to help the relief efforts for victims of the West, Texas explosion.
During their weekend series against the Mariners, the Rangers will collect essential items from fans outside the stadium. Items will be collected from two hours before the game until 30 minutes after first pitch.
The team will also hold a blood drive for fans coming to Sunday’s game. It’s a 2:05 p.m. first pitch. The blood drive will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame.
According to the Rangers' release, the following items are most requested: diapers/wipes, new underwear, blankets, water battles, gift cards for grocery stores or home supply stores, toiletries, sports drinks or powered sports drinks, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, non-perishable food items, clothing of all sizes and bedding, as well as dog and cat food.
