OCOCEE, Fla. -- Golfer Tiger Woods is recovering from a car accident that happened near his home Friday morning.
Authorities said Woods was driving a 2009 Cadillac SUV when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree.
He was taken to a Central Florida hospital where he was treated for cuts on his face and then released in good condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Police said alcohol didn't appear to be a factor. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn downplayed the incident, saying, "I think it's nothing more than an accident."
