The Texas high school football playoffs continued Saturday with quarterfinal matchups.

There was a big showdown in Denton between Denton Ryan and Denton Guyer. Guyer strikes early in the 1st quarter as J.W. Walsh takes it on the nine-yard quarterback keeper, putting Guyer up 7-0.

Denton Ryan's Scotty Young is one of the best quarterbacks in Texas high school football history, but on Saturday he tossed five interceptions.

Guyer improves to 13-1, beating Ryan 28-25.

At Gerald Ford stadium in University Park, it was Denison and Sulphur Springs in another Class 4A quarterfinal.

Denison is on the scoreboard first as senior D.J Jones gets the handoff. Sixty-five yards later, he's in for a touchdown.

After 10 unanswered points from Sulphur Springs, it's Jones again — this time on a 33-yard screen pass for the score, making it 14-10.

Denison wins, 49-35.
