ADDISON — Addison police say Dallas Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson was arrested early Tuesday morning by officers responding to a report of an aggravated assault.

Police said they confiscated two weapons from Anderson's car in the parking lot of the Blackfinn restaurant in the 4400 block of Belt Line Road, east of Midway Road.

A statement from Addison police said officers had been told "there was a confrontation between several men and a restaurant valet."

Anderson, 27, was arrested on outstanding traffic warrants from Irving. He was later released. No charges linked to the weapons had been filed as of Tuesday evening.

When contacted by News 8, Anderson sounded distraught but said he did not want to talk about the incident.

Anderson's car was impounded as part of the investigation.

Anderson's brother, Devon Anderson, 25, was also arrested on charges of public intoxication.

Deon Anderson was drafted by the Cowboys in 2007. He played in every game this past season and started in 10 regular season contests.

A spokesperson for the team said it is aware of the situation.
