Quad Cities River Bandits first baseman Conrad Gregor blasted his first home run of the season Saturday night, a three-run shot to right field that carried the River Bandits to a 5-2 win over Cedar Rapids. The guy in the outfield that caught the ball just happened to be Gregor’s dad, Marty.

The Gregor family had traveled to the Quad Cities from their home in Indiana for Memorial Day weekend, and Conrad Gregor said after the game that his dad may not be allowed to leave.

Via the Quad-City Times: “He may have to watch every game from out there. It’s a little unbelievable, but I’m glad my parents were here to see it and when I got back to the dugout, I heard he made a pretty good catch.”

The River Bandits are the Single-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Gregor was a fourth-round pick in the 2013 MLB Draft.
