ARLINGTON — Trey Sampson stole viewers' hearts with his recent run to the end zone in a middle school football game.
The 12-year-old Balch Springs boy who is fighting a rare and serious form of bone cancer finally fulfilled his dream to play on the gridiron.
On Sunday night, another dream came true for Trey. He was the special guest of Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Trey, proudly wearing the No. 88 jersey of his gridiron hero, got to hang out on the sidelines and to meet Cowboys owner Jerry Jones along with a number of players and coach Jason Garrett.
Dez Bryant even told Trey he would try to score a touchdown for him. That didn't work out, but he did have five receptions for 36 yards — and the Cowboys won the game against Washington 31-16.
