Some Chesney fans upset over concert seating

FRISCO - Some Kenny Chesney fans are upset they won't get the same seats they paid for when the country superstar returns for a concert on May 17.
Chesney performed in a torrential downpour Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco; he walked off stage after playing six songs when lightning made it too dangerous to play.
The singer promised to return to the venue to perform a full show for his fans, but the fans aren't likely to get the same seats they paid for originally.
Chesney's May 17 concert will be general admission. Anyone who had floor seats for Saturday's show will be allowed on the floor; people who bought bowl seating can sit anywhere in the bowl.
"I think they should offer a refund if you're not going to be able to get the exact same seat," said Mark Finn, who paid $200 a ticket to sit on the 13th row. "There is going to be a bunch of people in those seats that are expecting to sit in and they're going to be upset. I would think the Frisco Police Department is going to have extra security because there's going to be a lot of people disappointed."
Tim Blough sat close to the stage, too. He said he would have to come to Pizza Hut Park seven hours early to get the same seats.
"It does seem it's a little unfair to those that paid a premium price and now we're going to have to scramble to get a back row seat even down on the floor," he said.
The promoter said people shouldn't consider the concert a makeup or rescheduled show. Instead, they said it's a gift from Chesney on his dime to play for his fans. In such a short time, it was impossible to issue new tickets for assigned seating.
People are selling tickets on eBay and Craigslist without mentioning that the May 17 concert is general admission. In fact, they're giving seat locations.
"That's going to be a nightmare," Finn said. "Better be careful and buyer beware."
Frisco police Chief Todd Renshaw said he's not expecting any major problems as a result of the seating arrangement at the upcoming concert.
