LAKE WORTH - A 25-year-old Lake Worth firefighter was arrested Wednesday on charges that he solicited sex online from an undercover Fort Worth police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl.

Jeremy Blake Barrera was arrested without incident Wednesday morning at his Benbrook apartment, police said. Officers also seized a laptop computer from his vehicle and a desktop computer from inside his apartment.

Police said the investigation began with a June 23 conversation between Mr. Barrera and an undercover vice officer in a Yahoo chat room that quickly turned sexual in nature. According to police, Mr. Barrera requested to meet the officer to have sex.

Mr. Barrera faces a second-degree felony solicitation charge. He was being held at the Mansfield Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 bail, police said.
