FORT WORTH — Burger's Lake remained closed on Saturday, even though the private recreational facility had hoped to reopen.
Workers apparently over-chlorinated the water wile treating it for the cryptosporidium germ.
Burger's Lake is the first source of the outbreak, which is one of the most common causes of waterborne illness in the U.S. Tarrant County Health reports at least 36 cases of have been linked to Burger's Lake since the park voluntarily closed on July 16.
The facility was expected to try again to reopen on Sunday.
Cleburne's Splash Station water park was shut down Saturday after a lifeguard was bering treated for symptoms consistent with the crypto infection.
On Friday, two public water parks in Dallas were closed after several children fell ill with symptoms of cryptosporidium infection.
