Principal on leave during grade-changing probe

12:29 AM CST on Friday, November 30, 2007

By WFAA-TV Staff Reports

DALLAS - The former South Oak Cliff High School principal under investigation by the district for grade changing has been placed on paid leave.

Donald Moten is currently an assistant principal at a Dallas Independent School District middle school and has been the focus of a News 8 investigation into alledged grade changing at South Oak Cliff.

Moten is accused of forcing an English teacher to falsify grades for one of the star players, who should have been declared ineligible, on a state championship basketball team.

If the allegations are true, not only could Moten lose his job, but the team may be forced to forfeit its 2006 state basketball crown.
