PLANO — If your kids love Legos, SMU is the place for them. The university has a special summer Lego Camp where youngsters get to build cool projects on their own and in groups.

Projects range from simple structures to complex robots and cars.

"The camp is important because it provides an opportunity to work in groups and learn cooperative learning," said SMU's Connie Peters. "It helps with their fine motor skills, and they learn science and have fun at the same time."

The SMU Lego camp in Plano is so popular that the university is now offering classes at its University Park campus.

The camps run an entire week. Prices for the morning or afternoon sessions range from $95 to $235, with extended day options available for parents.
