Glitches spring up on Cowboys Stadium's parking website

ARLINGTON - Thousands of people will flood into Arlington when Cowboys Stadium opens Saturday, but some fans may find they will have a tough time finding parking.

A lack of spaces may not be the only problem when it comes to parking. There may also be confusion about how to even get to the lots; a new website aimed at making the process easier is just creating more frustrations.

The Cowboys rolled out an Internet parking plan Wednesday. Now, glitches have popped up, which may mean problems for some people going to the George Strait concert Saturday.

On the new site, one should be able to type in their zip code and plug in the number of the lot where they plan to park to get the best route to and from that lot.

But, News 8 and the Cowboys discovered that when some certain zip codes are typed in, the screen simply goes blank. The codes are for the Fort Worth area and include 76101 through 105, 76118, 76122 and 76124.

"It's just a software error, a little glitch in the program," said Brett Daniels, with the Dallas Cowboys. "We are going through it now just to make sure there aren't any others. When we find them, we modify them and the problem is being fixed."

In the meantime, if the information doesn't come up, click on the printer icon anyway. Clicking to print will cause the routes to appear.

"The maps are there," Daniels said. "They're accurate. Trust the maps. The GPS systems and MapQuest and these other sites aren't updated with the road closures and openings that will be in place Saturday for the event."

In any case, driving to the stadium site won't exactly be a breeze due to the construction and amount of intersections.
