RED OAK, Texas - Red Oak Junior High was locked down late Wednesday afternoon after a domestic dispute was reported four blocks from the Ellis County school.

The disturbance was reported shortly before 4 p.m., said Gay Lynn Broom, a spokeswoman for the Red Oak Independent School District.

Broom said authorities were searching the area for a suspect related to the disturbance. It is not known if that suspect was armed.

While buses were placed on hold at the school, which is located at 200 Live Oak St., Broom said parents were able to go inside the school to pick up their children.
