ARLINGTON — A 43-year-old man has been charged with murdering his wife, whose body was found by her three sons in their Arlington home.

Clifford James Caldwell was arrested Tuesday and accused in the death of Tanya Caldwell, 36, Arlington police said. He remained in Arlington jail on Christmas Eve in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Forest Hollow Lane on Sunday after a neighbor reported that the three boys, all under the age of 9, had come to the neighbor's home and said their mother was dead.

Arlington police Lt. Blake Miller said there were no obvious signs of trauma. The Tarrant County medical examiner's did not immediately release a cause of death.

Detectives had been searching for Caldwell since the call, and he voluntarily came to the police station on Tuesday, Lt. Miller said. Caldwell has since discussed her death with investigators, police said.

Lt. Miller said police have responded to other calls at the address involving the couple.
