N. Texas stations running out of gas

PLANO - The price of gas in North Texas seems to be holding steady.
But that's if you can find it.
Drivers are starting to spot shortages all over the area, and it could continue for the next couple of weeks.
A Chevron station at West Park Blvd. and Preston Road in Plano ran out of gas Tuesday morning.
"I tried to gas up this morning, and they were just completely out," said Katie Swindle.
She had to go looking for another station to fill up.
"It's kind of frustrating, you know," Swindle said. "Because when you only have a credit card for a certain gas station, it kind of limits you to where you want to go."
Hurricane Ike has caused delays in fuel shipments to North Texas gas terminals. The storm closed down Gulf coast oil rigs and refineries. Production is down. Terminals are rationing gas, so stations are getting less gas, less often.
"I went to a station down the road, and all they had was premium gas left," said Carol Duncan. "So I didn't want to spend the extra money on that."
Duncan did manage to find regular grade gas at another station.
Industry experts say that the spot shortages could last days, or possibly weeks. That will all depend on when the refineries go back online and when oil production is back to normal.
