DALLAS – Two men are in custody in connection to a shooting that took place outside NorthPark Center in May.

Demond Stuard, 28, of Dallas and Anton Wallace, 22, of Grand Prairie were each being held on an accusation of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Dallas County jail. Bond had not yet been set.

Both suspects were arrested late Monday after someone tipped off police through Crimestoppers.

Monday night, a Dallas Police Department spokesperson confirmed the arrests of the men who are believed to be involved in the shooting of Mary Boyd, 43, on May 16.

While Boyd was struck in the face, she did survive. She was at NorthPark Center picking up her daughter when police said they believe she became a target in an attempted robbery.

Dallas County
Demond Stuard, left, and Anton Wallace were arrested Monday night.

"We are so relieved,” said Sr. Cpl. Janice Crowther. “After this investigation is over tonight and after detectives continue their investigation and they are booked into Lew Sterret Justice Center, we will feel even better about this."

The two suspects will be charged with aggravated robbery sometime Tuesday morning, Crowther said.

Crimestoppers had offered a $50,000 reward in the case. It's uncertain right now whether the tipster will receive the money.
