The song tells the story of when Joe Milton became a father: "I just can't believe that I'm somebody's daddy. The man they look up to the face that they know, will bring safety and comfort no matter what happens. Oh little one, I love you so."
When Milton, a singer, song writer and producer in Sunnyvale, and his wife, Linda, had their first child, she suggested he write lullabies.
After all most lullabies and everything else baby related were for women.
"She noticed that there was just nothing for dads," he says. "I'm a song writer, but I'd never written anything for children or lullabies and she said 'yeah I want you to write an album of lullabies for dads' and I thought 'well OK, we'll give it a go.'"
The result was "Somebody's Daddy" an album with 10 original songs and a cover of Grammy winner Thad Jones' "A Child is Born."
Creating the album all about dads wasn't as easy as it sounds.
"Not only do you have to write for children, but it also has to be multi-level and write for adults," he says. "But you're talking about daddies, so of course if you start trying to build up dads you kind of automatically put down moms and this can't be either.
"So you have to find the common ground that makes dad look good, but doesn't step on mom in the process."
Now Loralai is 5 and 3/4, as she puts it and can appreciate having an entire album just for her.
"They're so special about me," she says.
It's a departure from what Milton usually writes about - and he's written 500 songs.
These songs have a different meaning, especially around Father's Day.
"Dads are just are happy to be recognized, plus it does work good at putting the kids to sleep," he says.
