UPDATE: The missing 68-year-old, Josephine Odii Abia, has been found 17 hours after she wandered away from her neighborhood. Volunteers going door to door found the missing woman inside a neighbor's home.

Original Story: ANNA, COLLIN COUNTY -- A 68-year-old woman has been missing since Monday night from her Collin County neighborhood.

Police have launched a massive search in Anna for the woman, who had been missing for close to 15 hours by Tuesday. Eight agencies, with close to 40 searchers, have been combing the fields, going door to door, and even searching from the air looking for 68-year-old Josephine Odii Abia.

Police say she may suffer from dementia and was wandering away from home when she became missing. Neighbors say they saw her walking through the sub-division at about 9 p.m. Monday night, but she hasn’t been seen since.

Police started searching Monday night, and then started searching again early Tuesday morning. Now they are focusing on nearby fields and forest, and areas that surround the remote neighborhood.

“She would normally walk west of her home, towards Highway 75 here in Anna. There are many wooded areas back there. If she got disoriented in the dark, who knows where she might have ended up,” said Chief Kenny Jenks, Anna Police Department.

Police do hope that she is simply wandering around some place, but the family is growing wrestles, especially with the weather turning colder recently. They worry that she may be wearing nothing more than a night-gown.
