It's tough enough to find a legal parking place on Greenville Avenue.

Every night tow truck drivers haul away cars illegally parked. But Thursday night it was the tow truck drivers being hauled away.

Customers at Spanky's, a nightclub on Greenville, were surprised to hear over the PA system that their cars were being towed away by a wrecker, especially since the cars were all legally parked.

Several customers including a former Garland police officer, Shawn Messic, filed police reports and went to the wrecker company's impound lot.

"I've been here before and I'm aware of where their zones are and I actually waited for someone to leave tonight so I could get a proper parking spot," Messic said. "I was just kind of flabbergasted it was gone."

At least 3 cars were towed away; two car owners were able to get their cars back Thursday.

The company, Southwest Auto Storage, is located at 11211 Goodnight Lane in Dallas.

Dallas Police arrived and after investigating arrested the tow truck operator for illegally towing the cars away.

The only response from the owner of the towing company was "no comment."
