FLOWER MOUND - Parents in Flower Mound are on alert after an attempted abduction along the 2700 block of Halsey Drive.

Authorities said a man approached an 11-year-old girl and offered her a doughnut if she got into his car. The child ran to a nearby home.

"...The poor little girl," said Katy Kimberlin, the owner of the home. "When she came into the house she was on the verge of tears. She was visibly shaking. She was upset about it."

After the incident, neighbors in the area began an email campaign to alert others in the area.

The man is thought to be around 65-years-old with a gray goatee.

He was driving a white or tan vehicle with dents and a smashed signal light.
