CHERYL JACKSON/ THE SISTERS OF SAVINGS
Sisters of Savings seek to educate families on how to save hundreds of dollars a month simply by using coupons and how to use that savings to give back to the community. Founded by natural sisters Cheryl Jackson and Lynette Shofner, the organization teaches how to cut a grocery bill, sometimes by as much as ninety percent, while more than tripling the amount of food purchased. It is the Sisters of Savings mission to improve lives and increase the money leftover in households.

The American Express(R) Gift Card can be purchased in denominations ranging from $25 to $100, and is accepted at U.S. retailers and restaurants where American Express Cards are welcome.
The American Express Spring Fling Card can be redeemed for three months after the date of issue at U.S. locations of participating entertainment retailers: Best Buy, Borders, Fandango and SpaFinder. Shoppers can purchase any two American Express Gift Cards complete a rebate form found at the in-store display and mailing it to the address noted on the rebate form. All rebate forms must be received by July 22, 2008, with a limit of two Spring Fling Cards per household.

Since there are so many options, what is the best advice for parents when selecting a seat?
Research and product demonstrations are very important. There are small details that shoppers can easily miss from how easy a seat cover is to clean to structural advantages. For instance in our high back booster VIVO, we have an additional aluminum support structure that other seats don’t have. It is a small detail until you really need it, and if an accident does occur, you do not want your child’s seat to flex under impact and we have designs to guard against these types of issues. Second, have your child try it out for fitment and enjoyment. Some seats fabrics they may not like while they fall in love with the feel of others, plus there are differences in the types and amount of padding and foam used. Finally, review how you would have to handle it on a daily basis to make sure you can operate it easily without frustrating yourself.

Do all car seats incorporate these same features?
In the market, no but within RECARO yes. Some manufacturers put high emphasis on creature comforts like cup-holders or a wide range of cover colors. From the fact that car seats laws are being signed by our government at a growing rate, there is a shift to safety and now it is time to educate parents on what the risks are and where seats differ from each other in addressing these risks.
What else should parents know prior to shopping for a child’s car seat?
Try them in the store and in your vehicle if possible.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS/MANUALS
Become familiar with all the functions of the seat to make the experience the best possible for you and your child.
Avoid bulky clothing as they will not allow the seat to perform at its highest level.
Don’t use “add-on” products in the car seat as these can increase the safety risk.
And finally remember that investing in safety by spending the extra 30 minutes for research or $20 on a seat may be something you thank yourself for later.
