The Hotze Health & Wellness Center uses an Eight Point Treatment Regimen developed by Dr. Hotze which allows his patients to obtain and maintain health and wellness naturally.  His customized program consists of treating low thyroid function (hypothyroidism), natural hormone replacement therapy, treatment of adrenal fatigue, airborne and food allergies and yeast overgrowth.  The program is then complemented with a nutritionally balanced eating program as well as vitamin and mineral supplementation.  Using this natural, therapeutic approach, they are able to correct your hormonal imbalances and begin reversing the decline in your health

About Steven F. Hotze, M.D.

Dr. Hotze, founder of the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, is leading the revolution in wellness! With a goal to help individuals achieve optimal health and lifelong wellness through the natural treatment of food and airborne allergies and yeast sensitivity, as well as balancing the thyroid, adrenal and sex hormones, Dr. Hotze believes in evaluating an individual's symptoms and then treating their underlying causes naturally.

Dr. Hotze graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in 1976. Once he completed the program, he pursued a career in family medicine, opening a practice of his own in Austin and later in Houston. After practicing traditional family medicine for well over a decade, Dr. Hotze broadened the scope of his practice and trained in allergy in 1989. The focus of his practice then shifted from medicating a patient's symptoms to treating the cause of the symptoms, in many cases, their allergies. His patients were actually getting better.

Dr. Hotze's practice continued to evolve. He began to notice that many women had other health problems besides their allergies. As he listened to his patients he began to detect a pattern. Many of these women had been suffering chronic illnesses many of them due to hormonal changes, such as childbirth or midlife. Others were suffering from recurrent yeast overgrowth, thyroid disorders, adrenal fatigue, and vitamin deficiency. To address these health concerns, Dr. Hotze and the staff at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center work with each patient to determine the underlying causes and then develop an appropriate treatment plan, customized for that individual.

As his patients' healthcare needs continued to grow, Dr. Hotze broadened the breadth of his services and, in1993, established a nutritional supplement company, Physician's Preference, Inc. The company has over 75 vitamins and mineral supplements available for its customers. Later, in 2001, he opened a compounding pharmacy, Premier Pharmacy, which specializes in compounding natural, bio-identical hormones. Dr. Hotze continued to press forward in his charge to revolutionize healthcare and, in 2003, he founded the American Academy of Biologically Identical Hormone Therapy, which trains doctors how to prescribe natural, bio-identical hormones.

While Dr. Hotze dedicates most of his time to the development of his practice and associated businesses, he remains active in a variety of organizations in order to share his knowledge and experiences as well as to learn from his peers. He is the founder and President of the American Academy of Biologically Identical Hormone Therapy, member and past President of the Pan American Allergy. He also serves as a member of the Society and American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the American Academy of Environmental Allergy, the Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.

Because of his dedication to health and wellness and his activism in the medical community, he has received accolades from his peers. As a recipient of the Sam Sanders Award, he was recognized for his clinical research from the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy at there Annual Meeting in September 1996. Additionally, he received the Dor W. Brown, Jr. M.D. Lectureship Award from the Pan American Allergy Society in 2004.

His reputation and natural approach to treating his patients has drawn attention from not only his peers but also from the local and national media. He has made numerous television and radio appearances, including Houston's KHOU ÒThis MorningÓ television program with Deborah Duncan, CNN'S American Morning show as the expert on natural, bio-identical hormone therapy in New York, Houston's FOX Channel 26, the CBS Early Show in New York and numerous other radio and television programs throughout the country.

Because his natural approach to medicine has gained widespread appeal, Dr. Hotze decided to pen his extensive background and experiences and write a book. In his book, titled Hormones, Health, and Happiness, he provides hope for the many men and women who are suffering from recurrent health problems and gives them tools to take charge of their own health, naturally. In addition to his book, he has been published in array of publications such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Houston Chronicle and Spirit Magazine.

He also has conducted research on his method of treatment. Some of his research include, ÒLong-Term Treatment of Allergy Patients with Autoimmune Thyroiditis at the Hotze Health & Wellness CenterÓ, ÒTreatment of Hormonal Imbalances in Female Allergy Patients at the Hotze Health & Wellness CenterÓ, ÒTreatment of Low Testosterone Levels in Male Allergy Patients at the Hotze Health & Wellness CenterÓ, and ÒShort-Term Treatment of Allergy Patients with Adrenal Fatigue at the Hotze Health & Wellness CenterÓ. Finally, as a radio talk show host on Houston's KSEV 700 on Health & Wellness, Dr. Hotze leads insightful discussions on health and wellness and gives the listening audience an opportunity to call in and ask him questions directly.

Married for 37 years with eight children and eight grandchildren, Dr. Hotze is a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He remains committed to his faith, family and community and is devoted to educating individuals on ways to take charge of their health. Whether it is through the radio, television, publications, or at the Hotze Health & Wellness Center, Dr. Hotze is determined to revolutionize the way men and women are treated in midlife.
