TERRELL OWENS/ BODYLASTICS

In 2007, Terrell Owens, the star wide receiver and Blake Kassel, founder and President of Bodylastics International, teamed up to create an efficient total home gym - Bodylastics Terrell Owens Super Strong Man Edition.

After suffering from a hamstring injury, Terrell turned to elastic bands to bring him back to his "A" game, and credits the work out regimen with the bands to his overall success on the field. Terrell wanted to take it one step further and worked with Blake to create a set that would meet the rigorous demands of Owens' legendary workout routine. What they created was the Bodylastics Terrell Owens Super Strong Man Edition, the most complete and capable exercise product on the market.

The Bodylastics Terrell Owens Super Strong Man Edition can be purchased online at www.tobands.com for a retail price of $99.81.

Dealing with Holiday Stress:

While the holidays can be a wonderful and exciting time for many people, the season also comes with its share of stress. Our children are often facing final exams, there are holiday band and choir concerts to rehearse for, families may be traveling, families may be hosting out-of-town guests, there are holiday parties to attend, last minute shopping, and everyday schedules often go out the window. During this busy time, there are a number of steps families can take to help keep a lid on the amount of stress affecting the family.

Signs of family stress/schedule overload include:

Irritability in parents/children

More "should do’s" than "want to do’s"

Parents only discuss scheduling and kids

Sleep disturbance, complaints of not feeling well

Tension in family as result of jammed schedules

Methods for dealing with holiday stress:

PLAN and PRIORITIZE!!!

Make sure everyone in the family knows what is going to happen – who is coming to visit and what are the arrangements (like where will everyone sleep)

Pick and choose those events that are important versus those that are not (and discuss who in the family will be required to attend what)

Make a family calendar for the holidays that shows the schedule of events

Structure meals/chores ahead

Limit number of activities per child

Schedule in some "off limit" time during the holidays (e.g., no phone calls or visitors at given times)

Stick to family rituals and traditions

Try to stick to regular bedtimes and wake-up times (later than usual is OK, but just don’t be erratic from day to day)

There are some children who can manage a great number of demands on their time, so it is important that parents take their cues from their children to know when to limit activities.

It is also important to remember that holiday stress affects parents as well as children, and this can limit a parent’s ability to be a good parent.
