Nacho Libre

Jack Black and his wrestling sidekick.

Fans of Napoleon Dynamite have a legitimate reason to celebrate - Nacho Libre is a dry humored laugh-fest starring Jack Black as a monastery cook. A well-meaning man with no skills, but loves God, loves the orphans, and has a crush on a nun.

So, to raise money for the orphans and impress Sister Encarnación, he creates a costume and becomes a Mexican wrestler.

Nacho Libre is filled with random one-liners, and oddball characters, including Black's very skinny tag team partner. When they climb in the ring, the result ranges from wacky to weird.

Remember, most audiences didn't know what to do with Napoleon Dynamite until they thought about it the next day.

Nacho Libre was shot entirely in Mexico and is the follow up for Jared Hess, the writer-director of Napoleon Dynamite. Don't expect to fall out of your chair laughing at first glance, because Hess's directing style features a delayed reaction, and on the way home, you'll probably start giggling.

Nacho Libre is surprisingly respectful to women and children, and like Napoleon Dynamite, it's rated a generous PG. Give this one a chance, and let it work its peculiar magic. After all, Jack Black runs around for 90 minutes without a shirt and with a bad accent, trying to impress God and the girl.
