The arrival of the Cowboys at The Salvation Army Carr P. Collins Social Service Center in Dallas creates quite a stir.

Their appearance to serve meals was uplifting for several hundred homeless men and women.

"It's awesome," said Shunda Mays. "It is awesome to be served the Cowboys. I'm so excited."

Even Laurie Phillips, the wife of Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips, pitched in.

"To be able to share Thanksgiving with all these guys, I'm enjoying it," she said. "It's a fun time."

It's not unusual to see the Cowboys do interesting and rewarding things within the community, but it is unusual for big offensive lineman to serve thanksgiving dinner, guys like guard Andre Gurode and tackle Marc Colombo.

"Did you see the size of that guy who gave me my tray," asked a man who goes by Smokey. "We're not scared of the Giants, we got a giant."

"It's good to get these guys some food and give back," Colombo said. "Really excited to be here, never thought I'd be wearing an apron. This is probably the first time, first time for everything.

Colombo and the offensive line played one of their better games of the year Sunday night. They're blocking on a key drive in the fourth quarter helped seal the game, while keeping Tony Romo sack free.

"It was what we were supposed to do," Gurode said. "It's what we go to work to do, so we got to work and try to go into ever game to keep Tony clean, that's one of our goals."

When they were done, the Cowboys left, but they were not forgotten.

"I love you," yelled one.

"Super Bowl," said another.
