Dallas Stars-Toronto Maple Leafs preview

Key matchup: Mats Sundin vs. Sergei Zubov

Two of the most underrated European players of all time, Sundin and Zubov probably will have a few battles. Sundin ranks fifth in the league in scoring with 28 points, while Zubov ranks third in defensemen scoring with 19 points.

Key stat: 3.45

The Maple Leafs rank last in the NHL in goals-against average at 3.45. They are tied for 28th in save percentage at .888. Last season, Toronto ranked 25th in GAA at 3.20, and it ranked 21st in 2005-06 at 3.21.

Injuries

Toronto: C Chad Kilger (leg) is questionable. D Carlo Colaiacovo (knee) and D Pavel Kubina (knee) are out.

Dallas: D Mattias Norstrom (facial laceration) is out.

Notable

Minnesota picked up LW Todd Fedoruk off of recall waivers Thursday. The Stars will pay about $350,000 more to Fedoruk this season and will have that total on their salary cap. ... LW Brad Winchester (abdominal strain) has been sent to Iowa on a conditioning assignment. He could be there for 2-3 games. ... This will be the 200th all-time meeting between the teams. The Stars hold an 86-85-28 edge. ... This is Toronto's first visit to Dallas since 2003-04.
