High Schools: Hurst L.D. Bell

SAN ANGELO – A day after Hurst L.D. Bell won its first boys team title since 1993, Bell's Abram Holt took the individual high bar title and teammate Tyler Martin won the vault crown on the final day of the Texas High School Gymnastics Championships at Angelo State University's Junell Center.

Holt scored an 8.90 on high bar to give him a three-day total of 28.475. Martin scored a 9.30 on vault for a three-day score of 28.475. He finished .125 ahead of Garland Lakeview Centennial's David Solis.

Along with his title on the high bar, Holt was second in floor exercise. He was also fifth on pommel horse, third on vault and second on parallel bars.

Euless Trinity's Eric Gladstone and Josh Dunning tied for sixth in floor exercise with Keller's Jesse Snow. Dunning was sixth on pommel horse.

On rings, Garland's Joel Mize was third, Solis fourth, Snow and Travis Ward of Alvin tied for fifth and Allen's Blaise Gentry was eighth. Solis was second on vault, followed by L.D. Bell's Nik Bosnyak and Gaelan Kefauver, who tied for sixth.

Keller's Chelsee Abney was fifth and Arlington Bowie's Brianna Brown sixth in the girls vault. L.D. Bell's Heather Kiser was second on the uneven bars and teammate Brittney Herman tied for third on balance beam.
