Edward Loar of Dallas, who entered the final round one shot back, shot a 4-under-par 68 on Saturday to post a two-stroke victory in the Gateway Tour Mid Summer Championship at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth.

Loar's 16-under 272 total gave him his second tour victory this year and earned him a $45,000 first-place check. Nathan Lashley (69) and Nathan Tyler (69) tied for second.

Loar made an early charge with a birdie on No. 2, an eagle on the par-5 third hole and a birdie on No. 6. He balanced out a bogey on the seventh with a birdie on No. 13.

Clark Dennis of Fort Worth, who held a share of the lead after three rounds, closed with a 72 that left him among six players who tied for fourth, three shots back.
