FORT WORTH — A police pursuit that started in Dallas ended late Tuesday night with the 14-year-old driver surrendering to police.

The teen led officers through Grand Prairie and Arlington. Police said he was threatening to crash the car in which his mother and siblings were passengers.

The chase lasted more than an hour along Northwest Highway, Webb Chapel Road, Lombardy Lane, Interstate 35E, Harry Hines Boulevard and Loop 12 in Dallas; then on I-30 headed west.

Along the way, police said the driver attempted to ram several patrol cars.

It all came to an end in Fort Worth near East Loop 820 after police used spikes to deflate the tires of the Pontiac sedan.

The young man surrendered without incident a short time later when the car came to a halt.
