Divorce, wedding plans changed due to health coverage worries

Financial advisers are noting a new phenomenon.
Clients are so worried about getting or keeping job-based health coverage, it's affecting major life decisions.
Healthcare is getting more costly by the day, especially for those with pre-existing conditions.
Some are so desperate for insurance they are moving up wedding dates, to get on board with the spouse's company plan, as soon as possible.
To avoid getting off the spouse's company plan, others are delaying divorce.
Meanwhile, the self-employed are actually hiring employees to qualify for a group insurance plan.
Those nearing retirement are delaying it.
Some people are moving to a different state, just to get health insurance.
Even those who have coverage say the headaches keep coming.
Just ask real estate agent Tricia Weiner.
"It's a huge concern. I had $5,000 deductible last year. I had to do four MRIs on my own outside of my insurance because they would have cost more with my insurance coverage," she said.
Under employer-sponsored plans, insurers are by law required to charge everyone the same for premiums, regardless of health status.
But in state-regulated individual markets, people with health problems tend to pay much more.
Sometimes, they are denied altogether.
