McKINNEY — Fire consumed a three-story grain elevator in the 400 block of East Louisiana Street Thursday afternoon.

The weakened structure tilted precariously over adjacent railroad tracks, blocking the the line with debris.

Streets in the vicinity, about six blocks east of the historic downtown courthouse, were closed to traffic.

Some people stood on nearby rooftops to get a better view of the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Fire departments from the neighboring cities of Fairview and Allen sent personnel to help staff McKinney fire stations while the fire was being battled.
