Fort Worth police said elderly woman who had been missing for four days was found Tuesday morning at a home in the 1000 block of East Jefferson.

Lillian Truitt, 71, had last been seen four days ago as she was leaving Harris Methodist Hospital in downtown Fort Worth.

Police said an old friend of Truitt's who lives about two miles from the hospital had taken her in, unaware that her family had no idea what had happened to her.

Truitt, who has Alzheimer's disease, was a bit disoriented, police said, but otherwise safe.
