Duncanville officials will discuss a proposed ordinance today that would prevent the operation of sex clubs in private residences.

Some residents in a subdivision near Cedar Ridge Road and Interstate 20 are upset that a private swingers club, The Cherry Pit, meets inside a nearby home.

The city has taken steps to control traffic near the home by placing no-parking signs along the street, but the proposed ordinance would rule "the operation of a sex club as unlawful and a public nuisance that shall be abated."

The club is not considered an illegal business because its operators do not charge visitors. The club profits from donations.
