But police don't have evidence he met with teen before day of arrest

A Dallas police officer e-mailed a photo of his genitals to a 14-year-old girl, according to court documents obtained Thursday by The Dallas Morning News.

Officer Patrick Taylor was arrested Wednesday on a charge of criminal solicitation of a minor. He has been released from the Arlington jail on $7,500 bail.

Authorities do not have evidence that Officer Patrick Taylor and the girl had met before the morning he was arrested when he was accused of attempting a rendezvous. It appears their communication had been through e-mail and text messaging to her cellphone, police said.

Officer Taylor could not be reached for comment.

Court documents show that Officer Taylor and the girl had met online. When the girl's mother found a text message stating, "Can I come to your house?" she called police.

The girl told police "she had made arrangements to sneak him into her bedroom," records show.

Officer Taylor allowed investigators access to his phone, and court documents state that they found the photo of his genitals on it. The phone indicated the photo had been sent to the girl's e-mail address, records state.

"The subject admitted that he did send the minor the photograph and the child confirmed she received the photograph," the documents say.

The teenager also told police that she told him her age.

Officer Taylor was placed on administrative leave Wednesday afternoon. He has no record of previous disciplinary problems.
